Greer Beaty is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the NCDOT communications office across all divisions. She joined NCDOT in late March 2009 having worked in both the private sector (French/West/Vaughan) and public sector (N.C. Smart Start, N.C. Department of Commerce, N.C. State University Agriculture Communications).
The Communications Office accomplishes its mission through:
- Media relations;
- Crisis management;
- Executing promotional and informational campaigns;
- Marketing and advertising;
- Coordinating special events;
- Providing customer service agents to answer questions from the public;
- Producing publications such as the State Transportation Map; and
- Providing graphic design, photography and video production services.
