Ted Vaden is responsible for developing and implementing NCDOT communications strategy to ensure transparency and accountability to the citizens. He joined NCDOT in March 2009 after 32 years with The Raleigh News & Observer as an editor and executive.
The Communications Office accomplishes its mission through:
- Media relations;
- Crisis management;
- Executing promotional and informational campaigns;
- Marketing and advertising;
- Coordinating special events;
- Providing customer service agents to answer questions from the public;
- Producing publications such as the State Transportation Map; and
- Providing graphic design, photography and video production services.
