Michelle Muir - Director Of Customer Service, North Carolina Turnpike Authority

In her role as Director of Customer Service, Muir manages operations, programs, products and services related to the regional and statewide customer service activities of the NC Turnpike Authority. She works to continuously improve customer experiences through the establishment and evaluation of high-level customer service performance goals.

Prior to joining NCDOT, Muir worked in the private sector. Her experience includes human resource management, strategic planning, business development and marketing in telecom and engineering industries. She has been engaged in community building, land planning and regional leadership through appointments to the Wake County Planning Board, Cary Planning Board, Wake County School Board Advisory Council, the Wake County Women’s Commission, and the Cary Community Foundation. Muir has developed innovative technology solutions to enhance local economic development and previously served on the McKimmon Center Technical Education Advisory Board.

Muir was born in Washington, D.C., and has been a North Carolina resident for over 30 years. She earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a certified leadership development facilitator with the Covey Leadership Institute in Provo, Utah.
