David Tyeryar is responsible for planning and oversight of NCDOT’s finances, as well as researching new revenue sources to meet the state’s growing transportation infrastructure demands.
Before joining NCDOT, Tyeryar served as Deputy Secretary and CFO for the Virginia Department of Transportation, where he helped implement a number of funding reforms to help address that state’s challenges. He helped pass Virginia’s first comprehensive transportation funding plan in 27 years, which provides more than 13,000 jobs and $9.5 billion in economic investments. He also established the office of Public Private Partnerships, which resulted in more than $5 billion in projects, using less than $1 billion in state funds.
Previously, Tyeryar served as Budget Director and Accounting Division Manager for Prince William County, VA.
