Construction Career Days (CCD)

About CCD!

Construction Career Days is an excellent opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to learn about rewarding careers in the commercial and highway construction industry.

During this event students will:

  • Have hands-on access to power and hand tools utilized by the construction industry.
  • Participate in interactive exhibits such as:
    • brick laying
    • carpentry
    • pipe bending
    • rebar tying
    • tile setting
    • welding
  • Operate heavy equipment used to build highways such as:
    • backhoes
    • bull dozers
    • cranes
    • excavators
    • skid steers
    • track hoes

Contractor personnel, vendors, and university and community college representatives will be on hand to answer questions about training and educational opportunities for students interested in pursuing careers in the construction industry. The future is bright for the construction industry and there is a need for skilled crafts people and operator personnel.
