Chapter 1: Restrictions (Health Requirements)
For safety reasons, individuals may not be licensed if they suffer from a mental or physical problem that might keep
them from driving safely. However, a handicapped person may be issued a limited or restricted driver license provided
the disability does not keep him/her from driving safely. For example, a driver may only be permited
to operate a vehicle while using corrective lenses or mechanical control devices. If your license is restricted, you must
only drive within the limits of the restriction; otherwise you are considered to be driving without a license.
A disabled person who passes the license examination may be issued a driver license restricted to using equipment
necessary to safely operate the motor vehicle.
If you are issued a restricted license, you can be called in for reexamination before the expiration date of the license.
