Construction
The Resident Engineer offices administer and oversee major construction projects Let to Contract within the NC Department of Transportation. These may include the following types of contracts: Roadway, Structures, Milling, Surfacing and Resurfacing, Traffic Signals, and Purchase Order Work. This office enforces contractor compliance and ensures each Contract is administered accordingly to Plans, Contract, Standard Specifications, Supplemental Specifications, Project Special Provisions, Materials & Tests, Roadway Standards and Construction Manual, and the HiCAMS Business System. Activities of the construction office consist of engineering, inspection, surveying, and record keeping by field and office personnel before, during and after completion of the projects.
