Cleveland County Comprehensive Transportation Plan Study

This plan is a joint effort between Cleveland County, the Lake Norman Rural Planning Organization and NCDOT. This plan provides an update to the previous Cleveland County Thoroughfare Plan, the Boiling Springs Thoroughfare Plan, the Shelby Thoroughfare Plan and the Kings Mountain Thoroughfare Plan. The local elected officials, board members and citizens provided input on the development of the plan throughout the study. Public Workshops were held in Shelby and Lawndale on November 10, 2010. The CTP was adopted by all Cleveland County municipalities and by the County between December 2010 and March 2011. It was endorsed by the Lake Norman RPO in May 2011. It was mutually adopted by the NCDOT Board of Transportation on July 7, 2011.
