M - M
Comprehensive Transportation Plan Study
The M - M Comprehensive
Transportation Plan (CTP) is a joint effort
between the towns of Madison and Mayodan, the
Piedmont Triad Rural Planning Organization
(PTRPO), and the NCDOT – Transportation Planning
Branch.
The CTP
Committee was formed of local officials, PTRPO
and NCDOT staff, and other local stakeholders.
The committee first met on August 21,
2012 at the Mayodan Town Hall to discuss the
overall CTP process and schedule as well as
discuss the preliminary CTP Vision.
The CTP
Committee met again on October 30, 2012 at 4:00
pm at the Madison Town Hall and finalized the
CTP Vision, released the CTP Public Survey, and
recommended the socio-economic forecast for the
area for approval by both town boards.
The socio-economic forecast
for the M-M CTP was approved by the Mayodan Town
Council on December 10, 2012 Mayodan Town
Council and the Madison Board of Aldermen on
December 13, 2012.
The CTP
Committee met on January 22, 2013 at 4:00 pm at
the Mayodan Town Hall to discuss preliminary CTP
Public Survey findings, the Madison and Mayodan
Land Use Plans and where expected growth is to
occur, as well as discuss initial transportation
deficiencies.
The first
public workshop was held on April 18, 2013 from
4:00 pm – 5:30 pm at the Mayodan United
Methodist Church.
The public was invited to view existing
transportation deficiencies in the M-M CTP study
area as well as give their feedback for possible
solutions.
Currently, the CTP Public
Survey findings are being compiled as well as
the feedback from the April 18, 2013 public
workshop.
A future CTP Committee meeting will be
held later this summer to discuss the future
transportation deficiencies as well as
preliminary transportation alternatives.
