Stanly County Comprehensive
Transportation Plan Study
This plan is a joint effort between Stanly County,
the Rocky River Rural Planning Organization (RRRPO)
and NCDOT. This plan will provide an update to the
existing Stanly County 2003 Thoroughfare Plan. The
new Comprehensive Transportation Plan area consists
of the entire county area boundary, but will exclude
the Albemarle, Badin, New London, Locust, and Red
Cross communities. The CTP was adopted by Norwood
August 1, 2011; Oakboro July 5, 2011; Stanfield June
30, 2011; Richfield July 25, 2011; Misenheimer July
11, 2011; Stanly County August 15, 2011; and
endorsed by the RRRPO November 17, 2011. The plan was adopted by the Board of Transportation on January 5th,
2012.
