The Transportation, Mobility, and Safety Division holds Rodeos
which promote Work Zone Safety.
The Work Zone Traffic Control Rodeo is a one day training
course. This year the training will focus on the new 2012 NCDOT
specifications and standard drawings relative to the following
subject areas:
- Overview of the NCDOT Work Zone Safety Basic Knowledge Document
- Advance Warning Signs
- Traffic Control Devices
- Basic Lane & Road Closures
- Traffic Control for Moving & Mobile operations
NOTE: This course does not meet the training requirements for Flagger or Work Zone Supervisor "Initial" Certifications.
It will however, satisfy the training requirements for Work Zone Supervisor "Renewal" Certifications.
Those attending for Work Zone Supervisor Certification "Renewal" purposes must submit their "Renewal" application no later than April 30, 2012.

The total number of attendees for the Traffic Control
Work Zone Rodeo will be limited to 200 people per day.
Enrollment will be on a "first come, first serve" basis.
However, we may need to adjust your requested day to balance
registration. Registration for your company or division
may be limited in order to get a good mix of participants.
NOTE: February 28th class is FULL. Registration
for the February 29th class remains OPEN.
Note: NCDOT Division personnel should only
register through their Division Training Coordinator.
