NCDOT will close I-85 North in Orange County beginning Wednesday night, August 20, for paving operations, weather permitting. The paving will begin at the Durham County line end just east of the I-85/I-40 split. The work is expected to be complete by Friday, August 29. Crews will close I-85 North at the I-40 split (Exit 163). Nightly closures will take place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Should work take place on Friday and Saturday nights, the closures will be in effect from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. During the closures, motorists traveling on I-85 North should take the following signed detour: I-85 North to I-40 East (Exit 163) to US 15-501 North (Exit 270) to I-85 North

INTERMITTENT LANE CLOSURES ON I-85, NORTH OF DURHAM

Intermittent lane closures will be in place on I-85 in both directions between Mile Markers 195 and 202 near Oxford due to a multi-bridge rehabilitation project.  These closures may occur anytime between the hours of 6:00am and 5:00pm. 
The project is expected to be completed by May 2015.

 I-85 SOUTH CLOSED NIGHTLY, BETWEEN DURHAM AND HILLSBOROUGH

I-85 South will be closed nightly, between Exit 174 and Exit 164, due to construction. The road will be closed from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM nightly, weather permitting, starting on Monday, June 23rd and ending in September.

Motorists should use the following detour: From I-85 South take Exit 174-A,US-15/501 South, to I-40 West, to reaccess I-85 South at Exit 163.
