Twelve municipalities were recently notified of their award for the 2009 cycle of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Planning Grant Initiative. This year, NCDOT received applications from 35 municipalities from across the state competing for a share of the $315,850 of program funding available. Since 2004, 92 municipalities have been awarded a planning grant out of 249 total applicants. To date, a total of $2,268,818 has been allocated to these 92 municipalities through this grant program.
