The N.C. Department of Transportation now offers travel information for motorists and ferry passengers on Twitter.com, a free social-networking Web site.

Travelers can sign up to receive brief messages, or tweets, from any of NCDOT’s 18 different Twitter accounts.

NCDOT Ferry Unit Updates

The department’s Twitter alerts about the state’s ferry system include details on schedule changes, weather-related delays and ticket sales.

NCByTrain

Get alerts about the state’s rail system, including details on passenger rail schedule changes and delays for the Piedmont and Carolinian trains, as well as rail-related projects, promotions and events.
