Terry Hutchens joined the N.C. Board of Transportation in March 2015.
Hutchens is president and the managing partner of Hutchens Law Firm, LLC. He began his solo career as a lawyer in 1982 in Fayetteville. He concentrates his practice on matters pertaining to business law, creditor’s rights, real estate and civil litigation in these and other areas.
Hutchens is active professionally and civically at the local, state and national levels. He is a Fellow in the American Bar Association's Board of Fellows for the American Bar Foundation. In addition, he is a member of the Wake Forest School of Law Board of Visitors and a member of the Board of Trustees for Methodist University. He was awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine by Gov. James G. Martin.
Hutchens grew up in a military family stationed overseas and moved to North Carolina while in high school. He obtained an undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University and a Master of Business Administration and law degree from Wake Forest University.
