Eric Boyette - Chief Information Officer and Acting DMV Commissioner

Eric Boyette serves dual roles at the N.C. Department of Transportation as chief information officer and acting commissioner of the Division of Motor Vehicles.

As chief information officer, he oversees NCDOT's information technology functions as well as IT administration and computer systems for enterprise services, the DMV and engineering transportation applications.

As acting DMV commissioner, Boyette oversees the daily operations of the DMV.

Boyette brings nearly 20 years of experience with NCDOT in various roles dealing with everything from technical to financial.

He has had several pivotal roles in the department which began as a division computer consultant for Division 4. Prior to serving as chief information officer, Boyette served as the inspector general, acting DMV commissioner, deputy chief information officer and acting information officer.

Most recently, he was the director of Enterprise Services, which supports NCDOT's Enterprise Resource Planning financial system along with the IT administration.

Boyette earned a Bachelor of Science from Barton College.
