The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles have resumed regular road tests ending the Contactless Road Test program. Even so, all applicants with pre-scheduled contactless road test appointments, to include teens aged 15-17 seeking the Level 3 Provisional License, should proceed to their appointment to complete their licensing process.
Other 15-17 year old drivers holding a Level 2 Limited License for at least six months can schedule an appointment and should select Teen Level 3 for scheduling. Learn more about the requirements on the Level 3 Provisional License.
Road test waivers are still in place for drivers 18 and over to get their regular Class C license.
For health safety reasons, all drivers will be required to wear a mask, as will the examiner, and all testing drivers will have their temperature checked before beginning the road test.
