\n\nWelder \nThe employee in this position examines parent metals and alloys in order to determine the strength\nand heating properties and determines the amount of heat to be applied. This position operates\nacetylene and electric arc welding equipment to permanently fuse structural elements during \nrepairs. Additional duties include assembling and disassembling steel elements to be repaired \nor replaced on bridges. The successful applicant will design and fabricate without blueprints, \ndrawings and instructions. This position may require overnight travel. Must be able to perform\nrelated duties as required. Also, the successful applicant will be expected to perform \nTransportation (Bridge) Worker classification duties as required when welding duties are \nnot needed.
