The N.C. Department of Transportation is working with N.C. State University to test North Carolina’s first electric, self-driving transit shuttle, known as the Connected Autonomous Shuttle Supporting Innovation (CASSI).
CASSI is currently operating on NCSU’s Centennial Campus in Raleigh, where it makes three stops along its approximately 1-mile fixed route on Main Campus Drive, Varsity Drive and Partners Way. The vehicle will be evaluated in other North Carolina communities later in the year.
CASSI introduces the public to an innovative transit option that has the potential to address the needs of urban and rural communities.
Where is CASSI Now?
