HEAVY TRAFFIC EXPECTED DURING MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY WEEKEND

Motorists in North Carolina can expect heavier than usual traffic conditions due to holiday travel from Friday, May 26th through Monday, May 29th.
Motorists should also anticipate major travel delays along I-85 near the North Carolina-Virginia State line due to long-term construction and seek an alternate route.
NCDOT reminds motorists to leave early and to travel during non-peak hours when possible. Motorists should drive safely, obey all posted speed limits and refrain from texting while driving.
