RALEIGH -- Due to
an earlier vehicle accident, all lanes of Interstate 40 West are
closed near the Aviation Parkway exit (Exit 285) near Raleigh-Durham International Airport in Wake County. The lanes are
not expected to reopen until later this afternoon.
Motorists should expect delays in the area, and are being
advised to use the following alternate westbound route:
Take Exit 290 to N.C. 54 (Chapel
Hill Road). Turn left onto N.C. 54 West and follow it to N.C. 540 at Exit
69. Take N.C. 540 East, which turns into I-540 East, back to I-40 West at
