RALEIGH - Motorists on I-540 Eastbound between the exits for U.S. 64 Business and U.S. 64/264 can expect multiple lane closures and traffic shifts starting on Monday, Nov. 28, and possibly continuing through Dec. 7, weather permitting. The restrictions are so crews can safely do road and bridge maintenance work to improve the ride on the interstate at its approach to the bridge over Lynnwood Road.
The lane restrictions are scheduled to take place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., weekdays only, to lessen the impact on rush hour traffic.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
