RALEIGH - The N.C. Department of Transportation will close lanes on Jake Alexander Boulevard and Julian Road in Salisbury starting Monday, Nov. 14, to move dirt in preparation for widening work and improvements at the intersection.
NCDOT will close the right lane of Jake Alexander Boulevard from the U.S. 29 bridge to Julian Road. Crews will also close the right lane of Julian Road from the intersection with Jake Alexander Boulevard to near the entrance of Tractor Supply Company.
The earthwork is expected to take about a week to complete. Weather permitting, the work will begin each day at 8:30 a.m. and end by 4:30 p.m. If additional days are needed to complete the work, NCDOT will schedule them for the week of Nov. 21. No work or lane closures will be place over the Thanksgiving holiday.
Motorists may experience some congestion in the work zone, so NCDOT encourages them to go slowly, follow construction-related signs and allow plenty of time to reach their destinations safely.
