RALEIGH - The N.C. Department of Transportation will close the right lane of I-85 North just north of Exit 81 (Long Ferry Road) near Salisbury on Wednesday, Oct. 26, for repairs. Erosion has caused dirt to shift along the roadside leading up to the I-85 bridge over Hackett Street, creating a hole. Crews will use concrete to repair it.
Weather permitting, the work will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end by 3 p.m. Motorists may experience some congestion in the work zone, so NCDOT encourages them to go slowly and allow plenty of time to reach their destinations safely.
