NCDOT TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE SANDY RIDGE ROAD IN GREENSBORO FOR RAILROAD CROSSING IMPROVEMENTS

RALEIGH - The N.C. Department of Transportation will close Sandy Ridge Road near Market Street in Guilford County to extend the existing railroad crossing and install a new turn lane. Weather permitting, this section of Sandy Ridge Road will be closed from 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21 until 6 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 24.   To access Sandy Ridge Drive from Market Street, motorists should take the following signed detour route:
  • Market Street to Landmark Drive to Triad Drive to Sandy Ridge Drive.

NCDOT encourages motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit. Motorists may experience congestion while traveling through the work zone and are encouraged to plan their commute accordingly.
