CHARLOTTE -- The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close Tom Starnes Road over Cane Creek south of Waxhaw on Monday, Nov. 28, weather permitting.
The closure is necessary for the contractor, Blythe Construction, to replace the existing bridge, and to complete related grading, paving and drainage work. The closure is scheduled to last through March 2012.
A detour will be posted via Tom Starnes Road, Mary Elizabeth Church Road, Old Highway Road, and Nesbit Road.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
