NCDOT to Temporarily Close Azalea Drive in Chapel Hill for Pipe Replacement

RALEIGH - The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close Azalea Drive near Mt. Carmel Church Road in Orange County from 8 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 5, through 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 19, weather permitting. The closure is necessary to replace a cross line pipe in order to improve roadway drainage. Motorists should take the following signed detour route:
  • Azalea Drive to Bayberry Drive to Arboretum Drive to Parker Road to Mt. Carmel Church Road to Bennett Road back to Azalea Drive.
NCDOT reminds motorists traveling in the work zone to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
