Motorists may experience some congestion

RALEIGH - The N.C. Department of Transportation will close Muddy Creek Road near the intersection with Hampton Road northwest of Welcome starting Monday, Nov. 28, to replace a pipe.

Weather permitting, the closure will go into effect on Monday at 7:30 a.m. and reopen to traffic on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at 5 p.m.

During the closure, motorists must take the following detour route: Hampton Road to N.C. 150 to Circle Drive to Muddy Creek Road. NCDOT urges drivers to go slow, follow construction-related signs and allow additional time to reach their destinations.
