OCRACOKE FERRY ROUTES SUSPENDED DUE TO HIGH WINDS

MANNS HARBOR - The N.C. Department of Transportation's Ferry Division announces the temporary suspension of the Ocracoke ferry routes to and from Swan Quarter and Cedar Island Friday morning, Nov. 11, due to high winds in Pamlico Sound.

The 7 a.m. runs from Ocracoke-Swan Quarter, as well as the 7:30 a.m. Ocracoke-Cedar Island did not take place. The 10 a.m runs are also canceled. The Ferry Division is hoping that the winds will subside so the afternoon runs can take place.

The route will resume operations once the winds subside and the route is safe to cross. Call Ocracoke Operations at (252) 928-1665 for more information. To receive weather cancellations and other ferry related posts by Twitter, sign up at www.twitter.com/ncdot_ferry.
