NCDOT Resurfacing Front Street in Burlington

RALEIGH - Work began today to resurface a section of Front Street from Haggard Avenue to Inglewood Drive in Burlington. Weather permitting, the N.C. Department of Transportation will close various lanes of Front Street each day from 9 a.m. to sunset. The closures are expected to last through Friday, Aug. 17.Front Street will be widened two feet on either side to improve safety. After the widening work is complete, the road will be resurfaced. The work is part of a $1.2 million contract awarded in June to resurface 3.2 miles of roadway in Alamance County. NCDOT reminds motorists to stay alert and watch signs for construction information. Motorists may encounter congestion and delays in the work zone during peak travel times and are encouraged to allow additional travel time or use an alternate route.For real-time travel information at any time, call 511, visit the NCDOT website or follow NCDOT on Twitter.
