NCDOT TO CLOSE APPROACHES TO TRADE AND JOHN STREETS IN MECKLENBURG COUNTY NEXT WEEK

Motorists should follow detours

CHARLOTTE -The N.C. Department of Transportation will be closing approaches to the intersection of Trade Street and John Street in Matthews each night beginning Monday, April 23, through Wednesday, April 25, weather permitting. Closures will take place from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. while crews perform open cuts into the pavement to lay conduit for a new traffic signal.

 

The closures are scheduled as follows:

  • April 23 -Crews will close Trade Street south of the intersection with John Street. Motorists will be detoured from Trade Street to Fullwood Lane to Matthews Township Parkway back to John Street.
  • April 24 and 25 -Crews will close both approaches from John Street to Trade Street. Motorists will be detoured from John Street to Matthews Township Parkway to U.S. 74 (Independence Boulevard) to I-485 back to John Street.

 

 

NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
