Work will take place between Brookshire Freeway and LaSalle Street
CHARLOTTE -The N.C. Department of Transportation will be working on I-77 North between the Brookshire Freeway (Exit 11) and LaSalle Street (Exit 12) in Charlotte from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 1, weather permitting.
Crews will close the right lane on the interstate and the ramp from the Brookshire Freeway West to I-77 North (Exit 5A) while Duke Energy runs an overhead service line to a lighting cabinet. NCDOT contractors will also work on relamping roadway lighting in the area.
Motorists traveling on the Brookshire Freeway wanting to access I-77 can continue west to I-85 North to I-77 (Exit 38). Access to LaSalle Street from I-77 North will be unaffected.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
