RALEIGH - The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting on Thursday, Sept. 26, regarding a proposed project to replace the bridge over the Broad River on U.S. 64 in Rutherford County. The bridge was constructed in 1926 and is considered functionally obsolete, which means that lane and shoulder widths do not meet current standards.
The meeting will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, at the Lake Lure Baptist Church, located at 6837 U.S. Highway 64/74A in Lake Lure. Attendees can drop by anytime during the meeting to learn more about the project and speak with NCDOT officials. Comments received during the meeting will be considered as project plans are refined. There will not be a formal presentation.
For more information, contact Natalie Lockhart, Project Development Engineer, NCDOT Project Development and Environmental Analysis Unit, at (919) 707-6175 or email@example.com.
