NCDOT to Hold Public Meetings Oct. 14, 15 & 16 for Complete 540 Project in Wake County

RALEIGH - The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold public meetings in October regarding the proposed Complete 540 project. The Complete 540 project would extend the Triangle Expressway from the N.C. 55 Bypass in Apex to the U.S. 64/U.S. 264 Bypass in Knightdale, completing the 540 Outer Loop around the greater Raleigh area.The project would provide a more direct route and quicker access to Research Triangle Park, the Raleigh-Durham Airport, and major employment and activity centers along 540 for rapidly growing communities south and east of Raleigh. Three meetings are scheduled at the following times and locations:Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, 4 -7 p.m.Wake Tech Community CollegeStudent Services Bldg., Room 213/2149101 Fayetteville Road, Raleigh 27603Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, 4 -7 p.m.Barwell Road Community Center - Gymnasium 3935 Barwell Road, Raleigh 27610Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, 6 -9 p.m.Holly Springs High School -Cafeteria5329 Cass Holt Road, Holly Springs 27540The meetings will run as open houses. Interested citizens may attend at any time during the meeting hours, as there will be no formal presentation. NCDOT representatives will be available to answer questions and listen to comments regarding the project. Citizens will also have the opportunity to submit comments and questions in writing. The comments and information received will be taken into consideration as the project develops.
