NCDOT to Install Right Turn Lane on Craver Road in Welcome

RALEIGH - The N.C. Department of Transportation has begun installing a right turn lane on Craver Road at Old U.S. 52 in Welcome. The turn lane is expected to relieve traffic congestion and improve safety around North Davidson High School.Construction of the turn lane began yesterday and will be completed by Thursday, Aug. 22, weather permitting. Crews will work from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. During construction, motorists should expect lane closures and traffic shifts. When possible, both lanes of Craver Road will be reopened to traffic at the end of each day. The work will also require periodic closures of the Craver Road/Old U.S. 52 intersection. Additional information regarding these closures will be provided as they are scheduled. During the closures, motorists will use Davidson Drive as a detour route. A map of the area can be seen here.
