NCDOT to Start Resurfacing Stratford Road in Winston-Salem Tonight

Project will require lane closures and take several weeks to complete
RALEIGH The N.C. Department of Transportation will begin resurfacing the outside lanes of Stratford Road (U.S. 158) between U.S. 421/Business 40 and I-40 in Winston-Salem tonight. The project will require lane closures and take several weeks to complete.Crews will grind off the top layer of asphalt from the roadway and replace it with new asphalt. The improvements will enhance safety, extend the life of the roadway and provide a better ride for drivers.The work will take place Sunday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following morning. One lane of the road in each direction will remain open; however, motorists may experience minor delays during lane shifts. NCDOT urges drivers to use caution when traveling through the work zone to ensure they reach their destinations safely.Later this year, the department will award a separate contract to resurface the entire road.For real-time travel information any time, call 511, visit our travel webpage or follow NCDOT on Twitter.
