NCDOT will be working on I-277 in Mecklenburg County this weekend

Maintenance work will take place near Fourth Street, South Boulevard

CHARLOTTE - The N.C. Department of Transportation is scheduling several lane and ramp closures on I-277 in Charlotte this weekend. Motorists should remain alert for activity near the Fourth Street and South Boulevard interchanges.

Beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, March 8, maintenance work will start in the following locations:

  • The ramp from I-277 Inner to Fourth Street (Exit 2A) will close until 6 a.m. Saturday, March 9;
  • The right lane will be closed on I-277 Inner approaching Fourth Street until 9 a.m. Sunday, March 10; and
  • The right lane will be closed on I-277 Inner approaching South Boulevard until 6 p.m. Saturday, March 9.

Crews will be making repairs to bridge railings and the barrier wall during the closures.

NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
