Closure is necessary for CSX railroad crossing improvements
CHARLOTTE - The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close Dickerson Boulevard/Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard south of Charlotte Avenue in Monroe at 9 a.m. Monday, June 3, weather permitting.
The closure is necessary for crews to make safety improvements to the CSX Railroad crossing. The repairs may take up to a week to complete.
During the closure, traffic will follow a signed detour from Dickerson Boulevard/MLK Boulevard to Weddington Road (N.C. 84) to West Franklin Street (N.C. 75) to Charlotte Avenue back to Dickerson Boulevard.
