Lane closures will take place at night to minimize traffic impacts
CHARLOTTE -The N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close a lane on I-485 in south Charlotte Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 20 and 21, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting.
The lane closures are necessary for crews to perform borings at bridges over McMullen Creek and Sugar Creek, associated with the $83.3 million I-485 widening project. The closures are scheduled as follows:
- Wednesday, Feb. 20: The right lane will be closed on the inner loop near mile marker 63;
- Thursday, Feb. 21: The left lane will be closed on the outer loop near mile marker 67.
Contractor Lane Construction has proposed completing the project in December 2014.
