Weather permitting, lane closures will take place Sunday, Monday nights
CHARLOTTE -The N.C. Department of Transportation is continuing work on the $83.3 million widening of I-485 in Charlotte Sunday, Sept. 22, and Monday, Sept. 23, weather permitting. Crews will be working in the median on Johnston Road to build a support structure for the future flyover bridge from Johnston Road northbound to the Charlotte Inner Loop.
To complete this work, northbound traffic on Johnston Road will be temporarily shifted to the southbound lanes from 9 p.m. Sunday until 6 a.m. Monday, allowing placement of barrier walls in the median. Southbound traffic will be temporarily shifted to the northbound lanes from 9 p.m. Monday until 6 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24 in order to remove the barrier walls.
