One Lane of I-95 South in Johnston County Closed Today

RALEIGH - The N.C. Department of Transportation this morning closed the inside lane of Interstate 95 South in Johnston County from Mile Marker 100 to Mile Marker 97 north of Smithfield. The lane will reopen at 7 p.m. today.The closure is necessary for crews to perform maintenance on the concrete median barrier rails along this stretch of the interstate. Similar work was performed in the northbound inside lane at this location yesterday.Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling in the area and to expect delays. NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
