RALEIGH -The N.C. Department of Transportation will have overnight lane closures in place on both directions of Interstate 26 at Exit 49 (Hendersonville/Bat Cave/U.S. 64) in Henderson County beginning Sunday, Aug. 25, until the morning of Friday, Sept. 6, for bridge work., weather permitting.
During the work, one lane will be closed in both directions between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., Sunday nights through Thursday nights.
The work is part of a $1.8 million project to clean and paint 10 bridges, including six in Henderson County, three in Polk County and one in Haywood County. Some structural repairs will be performed along with the painting. Project contractor is Astron General Contracting of Jacksonville.
