RALEIGH - Motorists traveling overnight on sections
of I-40/85 and I-85 in Orange, Durham and Vance counties tonight and next week
can expect some lane closures. Digital message signs are being replaced
at four locations, and the closures are required for safety reasons.
The nightly intermittent closures will occur between 9 p.m.
and 5 a.m., as follows:
- Tonight, Feb. 14:
Eastbound I-40/85 between exits 157 (Buckhorn Road) and 160 (Mt. Willing
Road), just west of the I-40/85 split in Orange County;
- Monday night/Tuesday
morning, Feb. 18-19: Northbound I-85 near exit 170 (U.S. 70) in Orange
County;
- Tuesday night/Wednesday
morning, Feb. 19-20: Southbound I-85 between exits 182 (Red Mill Road) and
183 (Redwood Road) in Durham County; and
- Wednesday night/Thursday
morning, Feb. 20-21: Southbound I-85 near exit 220 (U.S. 1/158) in Vance
County.
