RALEIGH - A pipe replacement project will close down Lead Mine Road between
Lynn Road and Millbrook Road in north Raleigh later this week, weather
permitting. It is a stormwater drainage pipe that carries water under the road.
The closure is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13,
between Tilden Park Drive and Ashley Ridge Drive. It is scheduled to
re-open in time for afternoon rush hour on Friday, Nov. 15.
A signed detour will be in place. Northbound drivers will turn left on
Millbrook Road, then right on Creedmoor Road and right onto Lynn Road to get
back to Lead Mine Road. Motorists going southbound on Lead Mine Road will turn
right on Lynn Road, left on Creedmoor Road and left on Millbrook Road to get
around the closure.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch for construction and detour signs and
stay alert when driving in the area.
