RALEIGH - Motorists traveling at night on eastbound U.S. 64 Business in
eastern Wake County can expect some lane closures between Hinton Oaks Boulevard
and 3 Sisters Road, starting March 18. That is when work begins on a $1.5
million N.C. Department of Transportation
resurfacing project.
Contractor Lane Construction Corp. of Cheshire, Conn. will be milling
and resurfacing 5.3 miles of highway between the Neuse River and 3 Sisters Road
near the interchange with the Knightdale Bypass (U.S. 64/264), with the
exception of the roadway at the I-540 interchange.
The work will be done at night to lessen the impact on traffic, with
one or two lanes closed at a time between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., Monday through
Sunday. The project is scheduled to take about 10 weeks.
