Resurfacing Work to Start Tonight on Liberty Street in Winston-Salem

Lane closures scheduled for overnight hours
RALEIGH Crews will begin resurfacing sections of Liberty Street and Akron Drive in Winston-Salem this week. Work will start on Monday, April 22, and end on Thursday, April 25, taking place nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning.Crews will begin resurfacing Liberty Street from Patterson Avenue to Lansing Drive, and once that section is complete, they will address Akron Drive from Indiana Avenue to Liberty Street.They will use heavy equipment to grind off the top layer of pavement, so they can return the week of April 29 and replace it with a layer of new asphalt. The work will improve safety, extend the life of the roadway and enhance the ride quality for motorists.While the work is under way, motorists will encounter lane closures and flagging operations. The N.C.
