RALEIGH -Sewer line work for the Stanhope Center student apartment and
retail project being built along Hillsborough Street near North Carolina State has closed
a section of the road through January 5. In order to lessen the impact on local
traffic, the work is being done now because N.C. State students are on their
holiday break.
The closure is about a two-block section between Brooks Avenue and
Concord Street. A signed detour in place will have drivers using Brooks Avenue,
Wade Avenue and Faircloth Street.
To access businesses along the work zone, motorists can use Shepherd
Street and Daisy Street on the north side of Hillsborough Street.
The developer of the five-story apartment and retail building is
expected to be finished in the summer of 2015.
