CHARLOTTE -Law enforcement officials will close Old Charlotte Highway between Airport Road and Rocky River Road in Monroe at 8 p.m. tonight to continue cleanup efforts from yesterday's accident at the CSX railroad crossing involving a train and several vehicles.
NCDOT will be providing barricades to assist with tonight's closure. Law enforcement officials will place and remove the barricades once the cleanup is complete.
There will not be a posted detour for traffic; motorists can use Goldmine Road behind the Charlotte-Monroe Executive Airport to access Rocky River Road or Airport Road. The closure will be lifted before the Thursday morning commute.
