RALEIGH - The start of a pipe replacement project that will close down through
traffic on Lead Mine Road between Lynn Road and Millbrook Road in north Raleigh
has been moved to next week.
By starting the project on Monday, Nov. 18, at 9 a.m. instead of this
Wednesday, there will be more time for crews to work around utility lines that
are buried near the stormwater drainage pipe being replaced between Tilden Park
Drive and Ashley Ridge Drive. The revised schedule has the road re-opening by
Friday, Nov. 22.
A signed detour will be in place. Northbound drivers will turn left on
Millbrook Road, then right on Creedmoor Road and right onto Lynn Road to get
back to Lead Mine Road. Motorists going southbound on Lead Mine Road will turn
right on Lynn Road, left on Creedmoor Road and left on Millbrook Road to get
around the closure.
NCDOT reminds motorists to watch for construction and detour signs and
stay alert when driving in the area.
