RALEIGH - Beginning Monday, March 18, N.C. Department of Transportation
crews will shift traffic on U.S. 70 West from two lanes down to one lane from just east of Innovation Drive to Banks School Road in Kinston, weather permitting. Motorists traveling on U.S. 70 westbound will be in this one lane pattern for approximately one week as crews begin to tie-in the existing U.S. 70 to the new U.S. 70. This work is part of a $22.8 million contract that awarded to Barnhill Contracting Company of Tarboro and calls for paving and new signals. Work on this project also includes upgrading the signals, signage and drainage in addition to adding a noise wall. For real-time travel information at any time, call 511, visit www.ncdot.gov/travel or follow NCDOT on Twitter.
